Short courses run at least twice a year, commencing in February/March and August/September.  Courses may run at other times subject to minimum class sizes.

Provide Lash and Brow Treatments - WRBFS305B requires the operator to assess client requirements and perform a range of services, including brow and lash colouring, brow shaping and lash perming.  It requires knowledge and skill in safe use of products, including perming and bleaching chemicals and wax, and the application of legislation and policy particularly in relation to safety and hygiene.         

The Unit of Competency WRBCS305A - Apply knowledge of skin biology to beauty treatments is identified as a co-requisite of this unit.  Training and assessment in all pre- and co-requisites is included in the cost and duration of this course. 


Provide Manicure and Pedicare Services - WRBBS201B requires the operator to assess the needs of clients and perform a range of hand and foot care services, including cleansing, skin care and massage.  The operator is required to shape and mend nails and apply nail varnish.  It requires knowledge and skill in the safe use of products and equipment and the application of legislation and policy, particularly in regard to hygiene. 

The Unit of Competency WRBCS204A - Apply knowledge of nail science to nail services is identified as a co-requisite of this unit.  Training and assessment in all pre- and co-requisites is included in the cost and duration of this course. 

Course cost includes a student kit (please request the College Prospectus for full details), and all other materials and equipment required to complete the training will be provided by the College.


Provide Facial Treatments - WRBFS406B requires the beauty professional to interpret the client's treatment plan and apply a range of facial treatments including cleansing and preparing the face, applying skin care products and manual massage routines.  It requires knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology.  Knowledge and skill in the application of relevant legislation and workplace policies and procedures, particularly in relation to health and hygiene and infection control are also required.

The Unit of Competency WRBCS407A - Develop a treatment plan for beauty therapy treatments is identified as a pre-requisite; and WRBCS305A - Apply knowledge of skin biology to beauty treatments, WRBCS408A - Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to beauty therapy treatments, WRBCS409A - Apply knowledge of skin science to beauty therapy treatments, WRBCS410A - Apply knowledge of electricity to beauty therapy treatments, WRBCS411A - Apply knowledge of nutrition to beauty therapy treatments, and WRBCS412A - Apply knowledge of cosmetic chemistry to beauty therapy treatments are identified as a co-requisites of this unit.are identified as a co-reqisites of this unit.  Training and assessment in all pre- and co-requisites is included in the cost and duration of this course.

Provide Temporary Epilation and Bleaching Treatments - WRBSS302B requires the operator to assess the temporary hair removal / bleaching needs of clients and perform the required service/s.  It requires skills and knowledge to prepare the client, perform waxing and bleaching treatments and provide after care advice.  Knowledge of body and skin and hair growth systems and relevant legislation and workplace policies and procedures, particularly in regard to safety and hygiene, are also required.

The Unit of Competency WRBCS305A - Apply knowledge of skin biology to beauty treatments is identified as a co-requisite of this unit.  Training and assessment in all pre- and co-requisites is included in the cost and duration of this course. 


Provide Aesthetic Aromatic Massage - WRBBS408B requires the beauty professional to interpret the client's treatment plan and apply a range of pre-blended aromatic plant oils using a range of massage movements and techniques.  It require knowledge of anatomy and physiology, for example the skeletal and muscular system, and its application to aesthetic aromatic massage.  Knowledge and skill in the application of relevant legislation and workplace policies and procedures, particularly in the safe use of pre-blended oils and hygiene, are also required.

The Unit of Competency WRBCS407A - Develop a treatment plan for beauty therapy treatments, and WRBBS407B - Provide body treatments are identified as a pre-requisites; and WRBCS408A - Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to beauty therapy treatments, and WRBCS411A - Apply knowledge of nutrition to beauty therapy treatments are identified as a co-requisites of this unit.  Training and assessment in all pre- and co-requisites is included in the cost and duration of this course.

Design and Perform Cosmetic Tattooing / Micropigmentation Procedures - WRBSS505B requires the beauty professional to interpret a treatment plan and apply pigments and electrical equipment to perform remedial and aesthetic cosmetic tattooing.  It requires knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the body and face as it relates to cosmetic tattooing and knowledge and skill in the safe use of electricity.  Knowledge and skill in the application of relevant legislation and workplace policies and procedures, particularly in relation to infection control and skin penetration is also required.

The Unit of Competency WRBCS407A - Develop a treatment plan for beauty therapy treatments is identified as a pre-requisite; and WRBCS305A - Apply knowledge of skin biology to beauty treatments, WRBCS408A - Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to beauty therapy treatments, WRBCS409A - Apply knowledge of skin science to beauty therapy treatments, WRBCS410A - Apply knowledge of electricity to beauty therapy treatments, and WRBCS412A - Apply knowledge of cosmetic chemistry to beauty therapy treatments are identified as a co-requisites of this unit.  Training and assessment in all pre- and co-requisites is included in the cost and duration of this course.
