All applicants are to read our Prospectus, and a pre-enrolment interview is required to ensure that you are aware of your rights and responsibilities when studying with us.  Our Student Handbook is supplied at Course Induction and contains our comprehensive Policies and Procedures and Rules and Regulations.

Early enrolment is encouraged to ensure a place in the course of your choice.  We limit class sizes to give all our students the best chance of succeeding in their study.

We also encourage all potential students to visit the College, meet the trainers and other students, and ask questions about the Course, Career Opportunities and College.

Please telephone (02) 9587 8088 or email jgalyer@grecollege.com.au to make an appointment to view the College and meet the Manager.

Basic Entry Requirements

  • Preference is given to students who have successfully completed the HSC (Year 12 or equivalent) with passes in English, Biology and/or Chemistry or General Science.
  • Students who have successfully undertaken secondary studies to year 10 level.
  • The minimum age for entry is 15, and social maturity and mature presentation are requirements.
  • Mature age entry is available, and encouraged for students seeking a change in career. There is no upper age limit.
  • Students are encouraged to apply with RPL and may be given entry into the course with advanced standing for units in which they have evidence of competence, as determined by National Recognition.

Overseas students are subject to the same entry requirements with the exception of the following:

  • a valid VISA must be held; and
  • overseas students whose primary language is not English will need to have passed the IELTS test in the category of English for Academic Purposes, with a mark of 6 or higher.

Enrolment Procedure

All prospective students are required to attend a personal interview with the Manager or an appropriate delegate of the College prior to enrolment. At the interview, prospective students are required to supply relevant academic records and references.

The Enrolment Interview may additionally involve commencement of an RPL assessment to ascertain whether Advanced Standing in certain units is warranted for a prospective student.

Prospective students are able to discuss in greater detail information pertaining to course and College requirements, commencement dates etc. This is to provide the prospective student with a clearer perspective regarding the expectations and outcomes of training and assessment and will facilitate a more informed decision regarding enrolment.

If enrolment is to proceed, the person wishing to enrol must complete and submit the Enrolment Form, signing where necessary. Once payment is made of the required enrolment fee, the Enrolment Form is witnessed by the Manager or delegate and a place is then reserved for the enrolled student in a course with an agreed commencement date. The Enrolment Form must be witnessed by a parent or guardian where the enrolling student is under the age of 18.

Personal Responsibilities of the Student – College Rules

Complete Rules and Regulations are contained in the Student Handbook, and have been designed to promote and uphold sound principles of ethics, professionalism, health, safety and respect in the training environment of the College. They must, therefore, be adhered to by the student at all times whilst undertaking their studies at the College. Any serious or continuing unremedied breach of the rules may constitute grounds for dismissal of the student, depending on the nature of the breach.

Recognition of Prior Learning

If you have previously completed a course or have worked in the industry, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competency (RCC). Applications for RPL and RCC must occur within 4 weeks of commencing the course, and should be discussed in full at enrolment.
